Our Curriculum
Our EYFS Intent:
At Blossoming Bees Childcare, our intent is to provide a nurturing environment that fosters a love for learning and supports children in excelling in all aspects of their development. We believe in working closely with parents and carers to understand and follow each child's interests, offering opportunities that support learning, consolidate knowledge, and help them meet their next steps. Our goal is to prepare children to reach the Early Learning Goals at the end of the Foundation Stage and ensure a smooth transition to the next phase of their educational journey.
Implementation
We prioritise effective communication with parents and carers to keep them informed about their child's progress and development. Each child receives a personalised learning journey, and we have a bespoke transition plan in place to ensure a smooth and happy transition to Blossoming Bees Childcare. Our curriculum is child-centred, based on engaging topics and wow experiences that ignite curiosity and motivation. We take the time to understand each child's interests and incorporate them into our planning to support their learning journey effectively.

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
At Blossoming Bees, our staff support each child's emotional well-being, helping them build confidence to engage in new activities and interact with others positively.
We focus on developing independent, resilient, and diligent learners.
Communication and Language
We provide opportunities and support for children to strengthen their communication, speaking, and listening skills.
For children who speak English as an additional language, our nurturing environment helps them learn English quickly.
Physical Development
Through a diverse range of experiences and opportunities, we encourage children's physical development, including fine and gross motor skills.
Extracurricular activities such as football, music, baking, and dance enhance their physical abilities.
Literacy
We follow the Letters and Sounds program, offering phonics sessions and daily mark-making opportunities.
Our book corner houses a variety of fiction, nonfiction, and dual-language books to instil a love for reading in children from an early age.
Mathematics
Children are encouraged to explore mathematical concepts through various activities, applying their mathematical skills and language in real-life situations.
Understanding of the World
We support children in building knowledge and understanding of the developing technological world, promoting British Values, and celebrating diverse festivals and celebrations from various cultures and beliefs.
Expressive Arts and Design
Children are encouraged to express themselves through music, art activities, dance, and imaginative role-play, promoting creativity and critical thinking.
Impact
Our commitment to children’s progress is evident in the evidence highlighted in their Learning E-Journals, supporting all areas of the EYFS curriculum. Key Workers use observations to make formative assessments, informing future planning and ensuring each child builds on their knowledge and skills at an appropriate pace. Termly summative assessments track progress, ensuring that all children, including those with additional needs, make good progress.
At Blossoming Bees, we inspire awe and wonder in children through powerful and inspiring learning experiences, linking exploration, creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and making predictions.
We have carefully designed learning areas in both indoor and outdoor environments, allowing children to engage with the seven learning areas effectively. These learning areas include the construction area, ICT area, investigative area, literacy/mark-making area, problem-solving and numeracy area, malleable area, music area, creative area, role-play area, sand tray, small world area, and water tray.
By combining warm and positive interactions with daily observations, we shape adult-led learning experiences tailored to each child's interests and learning styles. Our learning environment, planned activities, and experiences are geared towards ensuring that children fulfil their potential.
